Welcome to Virgo Season! This Virgo season has the potential for some really beautiful and healing energy. The Sun enters the sign of Virgo on August 23, at 3:01am MST. Just a few hours later, Mercury, the planet of messages, communication, travel and learning, turns retrograde in the sign of Virgo. It has become pretty common knowledge that Mercury retrogrades can cause miscommunications, technology fails, travel issues and frustrations, but I believe that this retrograde period of three weeks could bring some helpful energy from the fast moving planet.
Mercury loves to be in the sign of Virgo–it feels comfortable and at home and therefore can do its best work in that part of your sky. Depending on which area of your life Virgo rules over, that is the area that Mercury will be active in–going over old ground to revise, refine and restructure. Although this energy can feel very frustrating, ultimately it is to create better systems and foundations for you, so lean into it.
Mars, the planet of action, war and severing, is moving into the sign of Libra on August 27th. Mars does not function best in Libra, so watch for short tempers, and maybe some energy of wanting to cut things or people from your life. Mars can also bring some movement and action into the Libra ruled area of your life so be sure to check your horoscope below to find out how this planet will show up for you.
On August 30th there is a beautiful full moon in the watery and dream sign of Pisces. This full moon has the potential to be very potent and healing after what could have felt like a build up of some tense energy. Do not be afraid to soften and allow the power of this lunation to wash over you to ease any tensions.
On September 3rd Venus, the planet of love, money, pleasure and romance (FINALLY!) turns direct. The area in your sky ruled by Leo will have some forward momentum after a retrograde period since July 22, 2023.

As the sun moves into the sign of Virgo on August 23, in the area of your life having to do with hard work and sacrifice, this Virgo Season will most likely be marked by getting into the thick of all things work and “grinding it out.”
With Mercury turning retrograde here, this could be an opportunity to uncover better systems for work: getting organized, making plans that align with your goals, revisiting and revising systems and the potential to think about how studies, education or learning a new skill could help support you in your daily work routines. There most likely will be minor frustrations and miscommunications when it comes to work (maybe causing you to work a little too hard or extra), but in the end, it will be for the greater good. This retrograde is a three week period, so hang in there, be flexible, and accept the lessons that Mercury is here to teach.
On August 30 there will be a full moon in the sign of Pisces. This full moon is happening in an area of your life that deals with the unconscious, mental health and things that are “unseen.” In ancient astrology it was known as a place of self-undoing. This full moon invites you to explore how the things that you are holding onto or feel as though you are responsible for are restricting your light. This is a push and pull energy of obligations. This full moon is a potent time to ask yourself where you can soften and release.
There could be some momentum for you this season around romantic and/or business relationships. Mars, the planet of severing and action is moving through your house of relationships (both romantic and business.) This energy will take us through mid October, but pay attention to how the energies of these close relationships start to manifest. Mars, your chart ruler, can be a little hot tempered and face paced–he wants to go to war and severe things, so keep that in mind as you navigate this energy.
There is still some BIG Venus energy happening throughout this season in areas of your life dealing with pleasure, romance, creativity and dating. There is the possibility during this season to potentially be a little too indulgent when it comes to spending money and diving into your pleasures.
Taurus & Taurus Rising
Happy Virgo Season, you lovely Taurus! This season is all about finding pleasure and tapping into your joy. As the sun moves through the area of your sky ruled by Virgo, you are invited to lean into your creativity, dating and romantic life, pleasure and approach things with a childlike wonder. This is also an area of your life that rules children so themes having to do with children could be surfacing.
